Harry Potter in Concert

So if you are unaware, I am a Harry Potter super nerd. Read all the books, seen all the movies, and has a Pinterest board dedicated to Harry Potter, nerd. My mother and sister are also Harry Potter nerds. My mom will stop everything she is doing to watch ABC Family's (yeah I know its called Freeform I don't like change) Harry Potter weekend for hours. So naturally, when the North Carolina Symphony decided to play the music in concert while watching the movie, my mom bought tickets the day they came out.

And it was so freakin' worth it.

I didn't wear robs or anything like that to this event (I went more subtle with a White Witch Inspiration), but I did cry three times in the opening act. Something about hearing really music, not from a speaker or through the TV while you chug down some Ben and Jerry's, but music from a symphony in a concert hall always sounds better. Its like ordering mac n cheese at restaurant. You could make it at home, but for some reason the mac n cheese at a restaurant always tastes better.

Also, I've come to appreciate Harry Potter more watching in a room filled with people who also share a similar nerd quality that I grew up with. Being in my twenties, I sometimes have felt like I should have outgrown this, but I never will. The conductor wore his green Slytherin scarf the entire time, and people cheered at their favorite characters, but what really got me was seeing little kids in their Harry Potter robes. Like were you even born when the last movie came out? But it was a strangle feeling knowing that like rock n roll, Harry Potter will never die. 10 points to Ravenclaw for the amount of cheesy-ness in this article.
