Sneak Peak: Makai Collection

For my senior year at North Carolina State, I am participating in the Threads Senior Fashion Show! Not only am I going to be creating a collection for the show, but I am taking part in coordinating the show with my good friend Daniel!

I decided to post a sneak peak at my collection so far, so this is my concept and color boards for the collection! I have decided to focus on swimwear for men and women that was designed more athletically as well as fashionable. Swimwear is a more personal level for me since I grew up with some bikini body struggles and had a hard time finding swimwear that fit correctly, flattering, and actually stayed on when I went swimming in the ocean. Nothing like accidentally flashing the beach to ruin your vacation.

The design aspect of this collection was inspired by a jam session I had while listening to the Red Hot Chili Pepper's Dark Necessities (definitely go check it out) while researching my trend analysis. I had a clear vision of 70's Venice beach with graphic color blocking and a free spirited vibe.
