Thanks to Influenster, I got my first VoxBox for the Dove Dermacare Scalp Anti- dandruff Shampoo!! I've struggles with a dry scalp and skin since I was young (Its an effect from my autoimmune diseases), so I was very excited to try something outside of my usual routine.
Normally, I use a tar based shampoo once a week with conditioner to take care of my scalp. This has usually worked for me, but I did want to switch up and try this shampoo. My hair is normally very dry since its naturally dark brown, but I bleach it blonde. This particular shampoo I used with Dry Bar's Blonde Ale Conditioner and John Frida's Brightening Conditioner (I alternate to help with not making my hair turn blue.) The shampoo I alternated with was also John Frida's Blonde Shampoo. I used as directed on the bottle (twice a week.)
I was not particularly fond of this shampoo. It hardly relieved any itch, dryness, or flakes and made my roots look very oily and flat. I had to switch back to my usual routine after a week and a half because I couldn't take the flakes. I am sure this shampoo will work wonders for someone with mild dandruff and dry scalp, but if you have very dry scalp, I recommend a tar based shampoo from Sally's or going to see a doctor. If you have to have prescription shampoo for your scalp, please consult a doctor before making changes to your routine.
